Cult of Diffusion

A little about La Casa de Pilatos. It was constructed of the Reconquista of Spain, using largely Islamic motifs and executed by Muslim artisans. It makes extensive use of tile, plasterwork, arabic writing, and is centered around a courtyard.  The style is called Mudéjer- created by Muslims for Christian owners. It is interesting that at the time that the Church and Government were working so hard to kick out the Muslims, the height of style of the ruling elite was still Islamic in nature.
